I’m so remiss in posting this exciting news – we took third place in the Eat Local for Thanksgiving contest sponsored by the area Neighborhood Farmer’s Market Alliance!
What a lovely surprise for something I had intended to do anyway. You can read all about the other entrants and their meals here and hopefully the alliance will be posting recipes and photos of the other meals soon.
The first place prize went to a vegetarian feast that sounds super yummy. I think it’s actually harder to make a special feast without one central meat masterpiece and I’m sure the judges felt the same way.
You can read about our menu and the fine folks who grew food for it here.

Congratulations and well done!
You may be pleased to know that your blog inspired us to participate in the eat local Thanksgiving contest this year. We never expected they would choose us — the vegetarians — as the winners. Thanks for the inspiration. Happy New Year.
Amy, how cool is that! That is like your kids growing taller and stronger than you ever were. That warms my heart to no end.
Hey Amy,
I’m hoping you have a blog. I’m so bummed they never posted your pics and recipes after all the hard work you went to for that meal. If you don’t have a blog I’d love you to do a guest post on mine!
Thank you for the offer, that is so generous! Actually, I do have a blog and am working on putting all my pics and recipes on it from Thanksgiving — I’m just a bit slow.
I’ve also sent my photos and stuff to the neighborhood market association so they can upload it to their site. Should happen this week.
Oh, I meant to send you this as well, in case you’re curious. My blog: http://www.plumsinthepath.blogspot.com
