  1. We’re on board at our house! Better late than never, right?! :)

  2. Emily McLeran

Just found out about this today. Wish I’d have known about it earlier, but I’m on!

  3. Just found the challenge, but we’re on board!

  4. We are up for this challenge for sure!

  5. This is fantastic!

  6. Looking forward to bdginning this journey!

  7. Kathleen Marshall

Wooo! I’m in. We’re already working on the soil and have planted a few cold weather crops. Our last frost hasn’t happened yet, so we’re waiting!

  8. I’m on board for the rest of the year!

  9. Looking forward to catching up with the cheese-making, amending the soil and continuing planting my cool weather veggies. I just pulled up the last of the overwintered arugula!

  10. My partner and I have ripped up 800 sq. ft. of lawn and purchased 6 chicks since the new year, so I guess we were on the bus before we knew there was a bus. At this point (the “oh crap, what have we got ourselves into?” point), we could sure use the camaraderie to go along with our immersion into urban farming. The soil amendment that should have happened in February is sitting in a 7 cubic yard pile in the middle of a mud pit at the moment; some seeds are started… yippee here we go.

  11. We’re in too…as someone else pointed out, better late than never! DH just retired (April first!) & we’re staying here in beautiful Palmer, AK. Last year I brought in 20 chicks, (now 30+) 2 goats (went up to 6, now 4) & cannot wait for the snow to melt so we can put our starts outside!

  12. We’re doing it!

  13. I’m in..and I’ll drag the family along. :)

  14. I’m in! Was planning on doing this anyway so I’m glad to have the support and make it fun. Planted potatoes today. Have starts under lights. Garlic goes in tomorrow. My goal is to plant one thing every day ’til it’s all in and then fall crops in August. I started rye sourdough starter today too. Doing all this while raising two teen boys and working, but it’s my entertainment. Don’t have the income to go anywhere so I may as well stay home and pay myself!

  15. Oh and we have four chickens and a Nigerian Dwarf goat who’s boarded out of town until we get the land use codes changed here in Fort Collins. I’m on the advisory committee to the city to get that done. Could take a while though. Can’t wait to get Bella home!

  16. Valerie Ireland

Gotta start somewhere…how bout right here, right now?

  17. I’m in

  18. Okay. I’m down with this. I’m coming to it late, but let’s roll!

  19. OK, so I’m extremely way behind the curve here, but game on (!) in Bellevue, WA. I planted potatoes and buckwheat yesterday; peas and lettuce go in today.

  20. Totally new at gardening, second year with chickens. I’m game! :-)

  21. Can’t wait to get started on this!

  22. So excited to get to work….with a bit of catching up to do! This is going to be a blast, I can tell already. Thanks so much for the great resources.

  23. I’m with Valerie Ireland above — gotta start somewhere. I’m putting up a new trellis today to plant my beans and pruned/got grape starts for a a baby vineyard!

  24. Cassandra Snyder

This is something I’ve been wanting to start for a few years now…no better time than now!

  25. I’m excited about all the info you’re sharing, plus actually maybe growing something more than a tomatoe plant! Thanks for the ‘kick’!

  26. I thought I signed up before, silly me. Looking forward to it.

  27. I am officially signing up! and getting others on-board!

  28. Joining up here in Coventry UK sounds a fabulous idea.

  29. I’m ready! Yay!

  30. All we need to do is comment here to sign up? Is there an email newsletter?

    • Annette Cottrell

      Hi Amy,

No newsletter, just follow along with the posts. You can put my blog in your RSS feed if that helps. I really need to figure out how to get a newsletter going, I just seem to lack the technological brain for it.

  31. this sounds AWESOME!!

  32. Yeah, I’m in. Except I do have enough acreage to deal with being a farm. I just have NO idea how to do it.

  33. Just found this site. We built our raised bed and amended the soil and plants go in next week. Soooo excited!

  34. In… loved your book too, really inspiring!
